NEWS: EDDIE HEARN CLAIMS KATIE TAYLOR WANTS AMANDA SERRANO, THEN CHANTELLE CAMERON BACK TO BACK

‍Immediately after their epic encounter back in April of 2022, it was assumed a rematch would be staged between winner Katie Taylor and vanquished Amanda Serrano.

The pair made history, becoming the first females to headline a Madison Square Garden show -- one that did big business, and thrilled the rabid crowd in attendance. Naturally, a return bout seemed oncoming.

And now, with Serrano having just defeated Erika Cruz Hernandez to completely unify the Featherweight division this past Saturday, the rematch has been confirmed by Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn, the man behind the career of Lightweight world champion Taylor.

And while Ireland has been named as the location for the bout, the home country of the aforementioned Taylor, the venue is still somewhat up in the air.

For over a year, Hearn and co. have voiced a desire to stage a Taylor bout in Croke Park, which has a capacity of over 80,000. While a giant ground, it's one that most believe Taylor could fill as a local hero. A hero that, surprisingly, has yet to fight in her native land as a professional.

However, local officials have stressed that the cost of running such a massive event could make the logistics of staging a fight just around the corner a bit too much to settle before May 20, the date for Taylor-Serrano 2.

So, as it's looking, Hearn believes Three Arena in Dublin might be the frontrunner for the epic return battle. Though, Matchroom, along with potential partner Conor McGregor, are exploring both options as of now.

"I think it's going to be the Three Arena," Hearn told iFL TV. "We're speaking with people in Ireland this week, we're spealking with Conor. But it's fast approaching, and we can't let this opportunity slip for Katie. It's amazing that she's going into her debut (in Ireland). And you just saw Serrano (fight), so you know what type of fight it's going to be. Fight of the Century.

"So, we'll see. I think it's going to be at the Three Arena in all honesty. Maybe we look to secure the September date for the stadium. But Katie's made it clear to me what she wants to do, and her first priority is Amanda Serrano, and then Chantelle Cameron."

While the Serrano fight at Croke Park would be massive, one can imagine that a fight with undisputed Jr. Welterweight champion Cameron, especially if off the back of a second win over Serrano, would be equal in size in the fall.
