NEWS: TOMMY FURY CLAIMS JAKE PAUL WON'T FACE ANOTHER REAL BOXER AFTER SUNDAY
By: Jay Calderon
In just a few short days, Tommy Fury will square off with bitter rival Jake Paul in one of the bigger fights of 2023 thus far.
While it might still seem odd to call a special attraction bout between two relative novices a big fight, the fact remains the bout has garnered more than it's share of attention.
While this is partly due to the fame of Paul, it's also due to Fury being the first real boxer Jake has faced since he embarked on his fighting career.
While Paul is 6-0 with 4 sroppages as a pro, Fury represents the first active boxer to join Jake's list of opponents.
And Fury believes he will also represent the last. Speaking to Sky Sports, Fury, 8-0 with 4KOs, says Paul won't fight another boxer once he's done with him.
"I'm ready to deal with this man, this is a public service announcement going out for everybody, this man won't box again, this will be the last time you see Jake Paul in the ring against a true professional anyway," Fury confidently said.
It would be interesting to see just what Paul will do with his boxing career if he were to come up short against Fury. Would he lose interest in the sport? Would he drop out altogether, even with a promotional company in the game? Or does he actually have a deeper commitment than just the fighting side of the sport?
Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury takes place on Sunday, in Saudi Arabia, airing live on ESPN pay-per-view in the United States and BT Sport Box Office in the United Kingdom. You can check out my prediction for Paul-Fury by clicking here.
