ODDS: JOSH TAYLOR VS. TEOFIMO LOPEZ, SUNNY EDWARDS VS. ANDRES CAMPOS & MORE

By: Jay Calderon

On Saturday at Wembley Arena in London, England, and live on DAZN, Flyweight titlist Sunny Edwards puts his gold and his unbeaten record on the line against fellow undefeated fighter Andres Campos.

Edwards has been perfect as a professional and made most fights look relatively easy, helping to explain why he enters the contest as a -1800 favorite.

Campos, not so well known on the world level, will be in with a huge step up in Edwards. That coupled with the skills of Edwards, explains why Campos enters the bout as a +920 underdog.

Naturally, with Edwards the favorite, the fight is projected to go the distance. In his 19 pro wins, Edwards has only stopped four opponents. The over/under is set at 10.5 rounds with the over coming in at -1000 and the under landing at -550.

To be honest, one of these lines seems all that appealing. If you can find a book generous enough to have Campos at +1000 or worse, maybe a small bet there (that you fully expect to lose) could be fun. Otherwise, not much in it.

On Saturday in New York's Madison Square Garden, and live on ESPN, Jr. Welterweight world champion Josh Taylor will battle former Lightweight world champion Teofimo Lopez.

Heading into the big contest, the favorite happens to be the champion in Taylor, who sits at a -175. Having been a career-long 140 pounder that has beaten everyone in his time, it makes sense he's given u78the benefit of the doubt here.

Lopez, new to the weight and having struggled with recent form, currently sits at +135. Couple what I just mentioned with the recent drama in Lopez' life and his apparent self-doubt, the odds seem to make sense from both sides here.

The oddmakers clearly feel as though this one is heading towards the cards, with the over/under set at 10.5. The over sits at -1000 and the under comes in at +550.

The smart bet, one could argue, might be on Taylor straight up. You get a decent return with better than 2-1 odds in a big fight. That can be hard to come by.

The fun bet might be the under, with the return being the biggest. However, if you opt for that bet, expect to lose. Maybe it's just a small bet to keep the action exciting for you.

Also on the American side of the pond, in Ontario, California at the Toyota Arena, and live in DAZN, Jaime Munguia will move up to Super Middleweight, taking in veteran Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

Munguia comes in a solid favorite, landing at the -650 mark. Whole some might have assumed it would be a bit wider, we have to keep in mind Munguia is king his debut at 168 pounds and you just don't know how he responds to the new weight.

Despite his age (Derevyanchenko is 37 vs. Munguia being only 26) and his recent form (Sergiy is 2-4 in his last six), Derevyanchenko isn't that massive an underdog, coming in at +400. If you're the type looking for a reasonable 'dog to bet, this might be your choice.

The over/under for this fight is an interesting one, sitting at 10.5 with the over sitting at -160 and the under landing at +130. For my money, the under is an attractive option.

Munguia might win, and predicting a stoppage isn't absurd. What's more, if Derevyanchenko is to pull off the upset, you'd imagine it could well be via stoppage. Again, I'm not betting the house, but the line for under is decent.
