PICK: ANTHONY JOSHUA VS. FRANCIS NGANNOU
By: Jay Calderon
On Saturday, March 8, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and live on DAZN pay-per-view, former unified Heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua will take on former UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Joshua (27-3, 24KOs) is riding a three fight win streak, having most recently stopped Otto Wallin in dominant fashion back in December of last year. Joshua lost his claim to the gold back in September of 2021, when he dropped a decision to Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua would go on to lose the return the following year before beginning his current successful streak.
Ngannou (0-1, 0KOs) has competed only once as a professional boxer, earning a controversial loss at the hands of Heavyweight titlist Tyson Fury in October of last year. As a mixed martial artist, NGannou is 17-3, with 16 wins inside the distance. His most recent win in any combat sport was a decision victory over Ciryl Gane in January of 2022.
