PICK: VASYL LOMACHENKO VS. GEORGE KAMBOSOS

On Saturday, May 11, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, and live on ESPN, former Lightweight world champions Vasyl Lomachenko and George Kambosos will battle for a vacant portion of the gold at 135 pounds.

Lomachenko (17-3, 11KOs) was last seen in May of 2023, where he dropped a competitive decision to the unified champion Devin Haney. Prior to the Haney loss, Lomachenko had won three straight, including a dominant win over former world titlist Richard Commey back in December of 2021.

Kambosos (21-2, 10KOs) was perfect in his first 20 bouts as a professional, which included a massive upset win over then unified Lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez back in November of 2021. However, since then, Kambosos picked up two losses to Devin Haney in June and October of 2022. That was followed by a questionable win over Maxi Hughes in July of last year.
