PREDICTION: CHRIS EUBANK, JR. VS. LIAM SMITH
By: Jay Calderon
On Saturday, January 21, at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, and on DAZN in the States and Sky Sports Box Office in the UK, Middleweight contender Chris Eubank, Jr. and former world titlist Liam Smith will battle it out.
In his last outing back in February, Eubank made relatively easy work of rival Liam Williams, dropping him repeatedly heading to a wide unanimous decision over twelve. With the win, Eubank improved to 32-3 with 23 KOs, and is currently riding a six fight win streak since a loss to George Groves back in 2018.
Smith, who last loss in 2021 at the hands of Magomed Kurbanov, is a stoppage winner of three in a row, with a total fight record of 32-3-1, with 19 KOs. He last competed in September, stopping little-known Hassan Mwakinyo in four frames.
So, does Eubank continue to run and pick off his third world titlist as a pro, or will Smith keep his career alive and knock off the bigger, younger man? Check out my prediction here.
