PREDICTION: GEORGE KAMBOSOS VS. MAXI HUGHES
By: Jay Calderon
On Saturday, July22, at the Firelake Arena in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and live on ESPN, former Lightweight world champion George Kambosos will battle fringe-titlist Maxi Hughes.
Kambosos, 20-2 with 10KOs, won 20 straight on his way to becoming world champion before losing twice to current champion Devin Haney in June and October of last year, respectively. In his most recent victory, Kambosos dethroned then-champion Teofimo Lopez in a major upset to claim the crown back in November of 2021.
Hughes, has had an up and down career to say the least, standing at a modest record of 26-5-2 with 5KOs. However, he's currently running the hottest he has in his career, with Hughes upsetting former titlist Kid Galahad back in September of last year.
So, goes Kambosos get back to winning ways or will Hughes pull off yet another upset? Check out my Prediction in the video above.
