PREDICTION: REY VARGAS VS. OSHAQUIE FOSTER

On Saturday, February 11, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and live on Showtime Championship Boxing, world titlist Rey Vargas will battle contender O'Shaquie Foster for the vacant WBC Jr. Lightweight title.

It's an interesting clash of styles, with the awkward, fast-handed Vargas battling the boxer-puncher in Foster.

Vargas certainly has the edge in experience, with nearly double the fights of Foster, heading into the encounter with a record of 36-0 with 22KOs. In his last outing, Vargas captured gold at 126 pounds with a solid win over previously-unbeaten Mark Magsayo back in July of 2022.

Foster, 19-2 with 11KOs, has fought nearly the competition that Vargas has faced, but has been undefeated in nine fights since his most recent loss. In March of last year, Foster comfortably defeated Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov over ten frames, earning a unanimous decision victory.
