PREDICTION: STEPHEN FULTON VS. NAOYA INOUE
By: Jay Calderon
OnTuesday, July 25, AT the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, and live on ESPN, unified Jr. Featherweight titlist Stephen Fulton will battle fellow undefeated former Bantamweight kingpin Naoya Inoue.
Fulton, 21-0 with 8KOs, has been on quite the test since knocking off Angelo Leo back in 2021 for his first piece of gold at 122 pounds. Most recently, Fulton unified the gold with a win over then-titlist Brandon Figueroa back in November of 2021 and successfully defended his straps against Daniel Roman in June of last year, respectively.
Inoue has spent the last handful of fights totally unifying the 118 pound division, becoming Japan's first fighter to accomplish such a feat. Riding a five fight KO streak, Inoue most recently competed in December of last year, stopping the overmatched Paul Butler in eleven frames. The Butler win improved Inoue to 24-0 with 21 stoppages.
So, which fighter keeps their undefeated streak going and picks up their biggest win thus far? Check out my Prediction in the video above.
