PREVIEW: JAKE PAUL VS. TOMMY FURY

02/22/2023

By: Jay Calderon

On Sunday at the Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, and live in ESPN pay-per-view (USA) and BT Box Office (UK), prospects Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally battle it out.

After several attempts to meet in the ring, the pair have finally agreed to terms and seem to have found the correct location to stage the contest. The pair of unbeatens have spent nearly two years attempting to determine the better fighter.

Paul, 6-0 with 4KOs, last competed in October of last year, earning a decision over MMA legend Anderson Silva at Cruiserweight. Outside of Silva, Paul has stopped every man he has faced, including another MMA legend Tyron Woodley, whom he also defeated by decision.

Fury, typically a Light-Heavyweight but facing Paul at a catchweight of 185, is 8-0 as a pro, also with 4 stoppages. Fury last fought in April, earning a points victory over Daniel Bocianski.

So, what's at stake in this fight? What are my initial thoughts? What's in it for the winner and the loser? Check out my preview in the video above. You can check out my prediction for Paul-Fury by clicking here.
