PREVIEW: SUBRIEL MATIAS VS. JEREMIAS PONCE

On Saturday at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and live on Showtime Championship Boxing, Subriel Matias and Jeremias Ponce will battle it out for a vacant portion of the Jr. Welterweight title.

Matias, 18-1 with 18 stoppages, is looking to capture his first piece of world gold. In his most recent outing, the Puerto Rican avenged his only loss, stopping Petros Ananyan in nine rounds back in January of 2022.

Ponce, undefeated in 30 fights as a professional, is also looking to take home his first piece of gold. Back in April, Ponce took only three rounds to dispatch of Achiko Odikadze.
