RESULTS: ADAM AZIM DROPS SANTOS REYES, CRUISES TO SMOOTH DECISION WIN
By: Jay Calderon
On Saturday at Wembley Arena in London, England, unbeaten prospect Adam Azim cruised to a smooth decision win over previously-undefeated Santos Reyes in Jr. Welterweight action.
Othan than a knockdown in the second round scored by Azim, the fight was rather one-sided and pedestrian. Azim controlled most of the action, landing single shots at will, and boxing his way to a wide decision.
To his credit, Reyes continued to try, pushing forward and handling the power better as the fight progressed. However, he was completely outgunned, and unable to make up any ground in the final frames.
After ten rounds, all three judges had it a clean sweep with tallies of 100-89. Azim improved to 8-0 with 6 stoppages with the win, while Reyes dropped to 12-1 with the defeat.
