RESULTS: CHRIS BILLAM-SMITH KNOCKS ARMEND XHOXHAJ OUT FLAT, DAN AZEEZ DOMINATES ROCKY FIELDING

On Saturday in Bournemouth, at the Bournemouth International Centre, and live on Sky Sports, Cruiserweight Chris Billam-Smith weathered a brief storm to ultimately stop the tougher-than-expected Armend Xhoxhaj.
Xhoxhaj had a good stop, landing powerful shots in the first couple of rounds. However, he seemed to lose a grip of the fight by the third, when Billam-Smith was more measured and controlling the tempo of the contest.
In the fifth round, a flush combination of shots capped by a massive right hand badly dropped Xhoxhaj, as the bout was immediately waved off by the referee.
Time of the stoppage was 1:52 of the fifth. Billam-Smith improved to 17-1 with 12KOs, while Xhoxhaj dropped to 14-3.
Also on the card, Dan Azeez won the vacant Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight Title and retained the British Light-Heavyweight Title with a stoppage over Rocky Fielding. It was almost all Azeez and he punished Fielding, dropping him in the seventh frame. In the eighth, Azeez did enough to force the Fielding corner to throw in the towel.
Time was 2:05 of the frame. Azeez improved to 18-0 with 12KOs, while Fielding dropped to 30-3. Only Azeez was eligible to win the gold as Fielding failed to make weight by one pounds. He bypassed a second attempt.
