RESULTS: MELVIN JERUSALEM SHOCKS MASATAKA TANIGUCHI, STOPS HIM IN TWO FOR WORLD TITLE

On Friday at the EDION Arena Osaka, in Osaka, Japan, twice-beaten Melvin Jerusalem dethroned Masataka Taniguchi, stopping him in the second round for the WBO Strawweight title.

After Taniguchi opened the contest with a very solid first round, the actioned slowed just a bit to start off the second stanza. However, a straight 1-2 from Jerusalem dropped Taniguchi hard.

While Taniguchi managed to beat the count, he was in no position to continue, and the bout was officially waved off. Time of the stoppage was 1:04 of the second frame.
