RESULTS: TYSON FURY DOMINATES, STOPS DEREK CHISORA IN ONE-SIDED AFFAIR
By: Jay Calderon
On Saturday in London, England, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK, and ESPN in the US, Heavyweight titlist Tyson Fury easily dismantled long-time rival Derek Chisora.
The fight was completely one-sided, with Fury out-landing Chisora, hurting him consistently throughout the contest and seemingly on the verge of stopping his London foe multiple times.
Chisora's corner was reluctant to even acknowledge the idea of stopping the contest, and referee Victor Loughlin, one could argue, had plenty of chances to wave off the affair. Fury improved to 33-0-1 with the win, while Chisora dropped to 33-13 with the loss.
In the end, it took until 2:51 of the tenth frame before the fight was finally halted.
In the co-featured bout of the evening, Heavyweight contender Daniel Dubois had to survive the toughest round of his career when, in the opening frame, Kevin Lerena dropped the British brute three times.
While Dubois was able to survive the round (which ended approximately 10 seconds earlier than it should have), he needed all of the second frame to recover. Thankfully for Dubois' sake, Lerena oddly gave him the round to do so. Then, in the third, Dubois made Lerena pay for letting him off the hook by dropping him twice, before Daniel earned the stoppage win.
Time of the stoppage came at the end of the third frame. To check out the entire results, click here.
