SCHEDULE: WILLIAM ZEPEDA TAKES ON JAIME ARBOLEDA; DIEGO DE LA HOYA CLASHES WITH VICTOR MORALES

By: Jay Calderon

On Saturday at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, and live on DAZN, rising Lightweight contender William Zepeda will battle veteran Jaime Arboleda.

Zepeda has been perfect as a professional thus far, compiling an unblemished record of 27-0 with 23KOs. Most recently, Zepeda earned a lopsided decision over former titlist Joseph Diaz. Zepeda has stopped eight of his last ten opponents.

Arboleda last competed in August when he decisioned little-heralded Jhonatan Arena over eight frames. Arboleda, 19-2 with 14 stoppages, has won three straight since his most recent loss, which came at the hands of Chris Colbert back in late 2020.

In the co-featured bout of the evening, Diego De La Hoya will take on Victor Morales at Featherweight in perhaps the night's closest high-caliber fight.

De La Hoya, 24-1 with 11KOs, has had something of a start/stop career to date. De La Hoya has stayed perfect with the one exception back in July of 2019 when he faced Ronny Rios. In his toughest test to date, De La Hoya was stopped in the sixth frame. Most recently, De La Hoya competed in December, stopping Jose Santos Gonzalez in eight frames.

Morales is unbeaten as a pro, with a record of 17-0-1 with 8 stoppages to his name. Most recently, Morales earned a split decision nod over Diuhl Olguin back in November of 2022. Much like his upcoming foe, Morales isn't known for his power, with both having low-to-mid 40% KO ratios.

OTHER FIGHTS:

Fredrick Lawson vs. Esteban Villalobos (Welterweight)

David Stevens vs. Marco Antonio Periban (Super Middleweight)
