SCHEDULE: TIM TSZYU BATTLES TONY HARRISON; TONY YOKA TAKES ON CARLOS TAKAM & MORE
By: Jay Calderon
On Friday at the York Hall in London, England, Tommy Frank will defend his British Flyweight title against Jay Harris.
In his most recent outing, Frank narrowly avoided disaster, dropping Craig Derbyshire in route to a 12 round draw. Outside of the knockdowns, it was a close fight that could have gone Derbyshire's way.
Harris has been hit or miss in his most recent outings, having gone 1-2 in his last three. In his last contest, Harris stopped Alejandro Torres inside of four frames.
On Saturday, at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, and live on Showtime, undefeated contender Tim Tszyu will battle former world champion Tony Harrison.
Tszyu, originally scheduled to face current world champion Jermell Charlo, most recently fought in March of last year. In his debut in America, Tszyu got off the canvas to decision Terrell Gausha over twelve rounds.
Harrison last fought in April, earning a unanimous decision over Sergio Garcia. Coincidentally, Harrison lost his gold to the aforementioned Charlo back in 2019.
Also on Saturday, Heavyweight contender Tony Yoka will face veteran Carlos Takam in Paris, France.
Yoka will look to bounce back from his first career defeat, which he suffered back in May of last year at the hand of Martin Bakole. Takam has been out of the ring since September of last year, when he dropped a decision to Arslanbek Makhmudov.
